As a newlywed, my lucky husband gets to tag along often when I travel for work. We both have the bug and plan our own leisure trips as well. We've tackled together the east and west coasts of North America, islands in the Caribbean and many parts of Europe. We just recently undertook a move from the United States to London, England – and lived to tell the tale! We've traveled since we were 22 and took our first road trip acorss New York State – 8 years later, still going strong.
The first time I ever left the country, I was alone and 21 years old. Within three hours of the plane landing, I lost my passport. True story. Almost a decade later I've now nearly mastered what it is to travel near and far as a solo female and would love to make sure you don't make the same mistakes I used to all the time! I've trekked through three continents on my own, and most recently enjoyed six days in Ireland learning to drive on the left-hand side by myself.
When young, I moved from the U.S. to Spain first as a student, then later in life as a full-time au pair. Within a year of getting married, my husband and I decided to have a big adventure together and relocate from the U.S. to the U.K. The process was crazy but so far I've loved every minute. I can give expert advice on the US to UK move or answer questions you may have on working and studying abroad in Europe and beyond.
I run two successful online publications – Pure Wander for the modern family traveler and CrookedFlight for females and couples. Both have been live for three years and have led to paid gigs, sponsored travel and career opportunities. I also freelance for various websites including Buzzfeed Travel, Matador Network, Canadian World Traveller and Hipmunk, just to name a few. I enjoy passing on my advice and expertise for those who wish to start out in the travel writing industry.
When I was a kid, my family enjoyed unforgettable camping, RV and resort vacations every year. Now I have a husband and love to travel with my young nephew, 10-year-old brother-in-law and giant extended clan. I co-own a website catered to the modern family traveler who might be looking to 'ditch the theme park' and try something new. Anyone with any age children can travel with the right planning, near or far. Tell me your dreams of family wandering & we can make them a reality!
For three weeks, I took an extended honeymoon in this part of the world. We explored the North Island of New Zealand by car, as well as a week in Sydney and a week in Cairns, Australia. We enjoyed some luxury resorts as well as budget hotels and activities. On other trips, I travel solo for work, with my husband, baby nephews, extended family, girlfriends and retired parents. My specialities are the outdoors, nightlife, food/drink, festivals, accommodations & transportation.
I grew up on the East Coast and have worked/lived in Boston, Massachusett for two decades. After countless road trips from Maine to Florida and back, I know exactly what to do and see for all types of travelers. I've also explored the American South, California, the American West and even Alaska. I travel solo for work, with my husband, baby nephews, extended family, girlfriends and retired parents. My specialities are the outdoors, food/drink, festivals, accommodations & transportation.
The islands of the Caribbean are some of my favorite places to go in the world. My expertise lies in Aruba, Curacao and St. Lucia, but I'm comfortable advising on trip planning from luxury to budget. Currently, I am an expat American living in Southwest London with my British husband. We have been all over this beautiful country and enjoy 'staycations' in London on the regular, indulging in the foodie, art, theater and music scene. I also have explored much of Southern Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland. I travel for work & as a couple, with baby nephew, extended family, girlfriends & retired parents. My specialities are the outdoors, food/drink, festivals, accommodations & transportation.
I recently have moved to the UK permanently and travel extensively all over the UK. About a decade ago I studied abroad in Seville, Spain; then I returned as an au pair a few years later to live for another year. My job and studies have brought me all over Spain, Portugal and France. I travel solo for work, with my husband, baby nephews, extended family, girlfriends and retired parents. My specialities are the outdoors, nightlife, food/drink, festivals, accommodations & transportation.
