Vacations & holidays
I currently work full-time (although I'm dreaming of a fully nomadic life!), and really work to maximise my annual leave and holidays to get the most travel in that I possibly can. I love planning and researching my travel, to make sure I can get the most out of my holiday without feeling like I need to come back to my day job for a rest!
Self-confessed adrenaline junkie here! I really enjoy doing something adventurous on each trip I take, trying to stretch outside my comfort zone. I've done things like white-water rafting and parasailing overseas, and recently tried scuba diving for the first time in Thailand. I also recently discovered a love for trekking when I completed the Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal!
I've been travelling with my husband since we first got together back in 2008. It's been interesting how our travel style and how we interact on our holidays has changed as our relationship has progressed. I feel that travel has actually made us a closer couple, and helped us understand each other even better! It's also given me the courage to at times go off and do my own thing in foreign countries, which I never would have done when I first started travelling!
Travel throughout Southeast Asia is one of my passions and I've really fallen in love with the region. I've visited Thailand several times, and have some great friends over there. I've also travelled throughout Bali (including Gili Trawangan), Laos, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and the Philippines.
Thailand is one of my favourite places in the world, and I keep finding excuses to come back time and time again. From my husband proposing to me in Thailand, us going back to buy our wedding rings there, visiting again on our honeymoon, and celebrating my 30th birthday there – Thailand is really intertwined with most of the milestone events in my life. I've travelled to many parts of the country, and keep trying to find a new place to go each time I visit.
Born and bred in Australia, I've lived in various places around the country for all of my life. I grew up in country Victoria, and currently live in Melbourne. I also lived in Perth for 2 years, and have travelled extensively throughout Victoria, Western Australia, New South Wales and Queensland. Australia is a fantastic country to live in and visit, and I'd love to share my local knowledge with you!
