Join the site using our simple sign-up form (it takes less than thirty seconds to sign up). Search the database of expert travel advisors, view their profiles, examine their areas of expertise and read previous member reviews. When you find an expert you want to communicate with, simply choose either the “Send me questions!” or “Talk to me!” option and follow the simple instructions provided. The “Send me questions!” option allows you to submit up to 3 questions via the Plansify question form and your travel advisor will then answer those questions within 48 hours. The “Talk to me!” option allows you to schedule a personal Skype call of up to 1 hour with your travel advisor at a time that is convenient for the both of you.
Experienced travelers, travel writers, people who work in the travel industry and more. All of our experts have at least one area of travel expertise (most have several) and they also have the credentials to back it up. Browse through the profiles and you’ll see that every expert must explain exactly why they are an expert in each category they list, complete with recognitions and links to back up their claims. And with our user review system in place, our experts are always held accountable.
With detailed travel advisor profiles, lists of recognitions they’ve earned, links to websites where they’ve been mentioned, specific information about their areas of expertise and member reviewers, it’s easy to determine which expert is best suited to answer your particular questions. You can also narrow down your search by choosing the region or travel category for which you are seeking advice and only those travel advisors who are experts in those topics will appear. Once you choose a travel advisor to contact, you can ask your questions by clicking on the advisor’s “Send me questions!” or “Talk to me!” button and following the instructions on the next page.
A session involves the communication between you and a particular travel advisor. It can either be a “Question Session”, in which you may ask up to three questions via our Plansify question form, or it may be a “Call Session”, with which you schedule a personal Skype call with your chosen travel advisor.
The first step is to choose the “Send me questions!” option on your chosen travel advisor’s profile page. Then, simply fill out the form on the next page, entering up to three questions and providing sufficient background information to help your advisor provide the most useful advice possible. You then submit the form, enter your payment details on the next page and within 48 hours, you’ll receive the answers to your questions.
Anything! Whether you need advice about a particular trip or itinerary, recommendations for accommodation, how to find work in another country, where you can volunteer without spending a fortune, the most affordable locations for scuba diving, what it’s like to live in a particular city, how you can prepare for a round-the-world trip or absolutely anything else, you’ll find expert travelers in almost every category imaginable, ensuring that the answers you receive come directly from those who can provide the most reliable, useful information possible.
You may ask up to three questions to a particular travel advisor for the “Question Session rate” indicated on the advisor’s profile page. However, you don’t have to ask all three questions at once. You may ask one or two questions at first and then after receiving a reply, use your remaining questions as follow-up questions. The session is complete once your three allotted questions have been asked and answered by the same travel advisor within a period of one week. (You must ask all three questions within one week.)

If you use up your three allotted questions, you may purchase an additional three questions that you can ask to either the same travel advisor or a different travel advisor. You can purchase as many “Question Sessions” as you wish.
The first step is to choose the “Talk to me!” option on your chosen travel advisor’s profile page. Then, simply fill out the form on the next page, indicating three date/time combinations when you would be available for a call. Your travel advisor will then confirm one of those times and their Skype ID will then appear in your “My Sessions” page. Shortly before your scheduled call, just send a Skype contact request to your travel advisor and you’ll be all set for your talk. You may than ask questions and seek advice directly from your travel advisor for up to one hour.
If the dates/times you chose are not suitable for the travel advisor, they will send you a message through the Plansify messaging system, suggesting some new dates/times for the call. You may then message back and forth until you agree upon a date/time that works for both of you. Once you agree, the travel advisor will then enter that date/time into the system and the call will be confirmed.
This is your dashboard that contains a list of all of your sessions, with all of the important details about each session. The information on this page includes open, confirmed and completed sessions, the responses to your questions, scheduled dates and times of your Skype calls and more. If you need to know anything about your past, current or future sessions, this is where you’ll find what you need.
Each travel advisor sets their own rates, with one rate for a “Question Session” and another rate for a “Call Session”. You can see each advisor’s rates clearly indicated on their profile pages.
Before you can submit your questions to a travel advisor, you’ll need to enter your credit card or PayPal details. Then, after your questions are sent, the travel advisor will either answer your questions or decline your request. You will only be charged when a travel advisor confirms that they can answer your questions. Upon being charged, a receipt will be emailed to you.
Once you make a session request, your chosen advisor has 48 hours to either confirm or decline that request. As soon as they do confirm, or in rare cases, decline, your session, you will receive a notification email. If the advisor does not confirm or decline your session within 48 hours, the session will be automatically declined so that you may choose a new advisor who may be able to help you more quickly.
Sometimes, a travel advisor might be without a solid internet connection, they may be busy with a personal matter or traveling in a remote location, or they might have another valid reason for not being able to assist. In addition, a travel advisor might feel that they cannot provide the advice you are looking for and would rather you seek that advice from a more capable travel advisor.
Leaving feedback is easy. Once your session is complete, you will receive an email with a link to our feedback form. You may also visit your “My Sessions” page once your session is complete and click on the “History” tab. You will then see the “Leave Feedback” button where you can fill out the feedback form for that session.
If you’re not satisfied with the assistance you receive from your travel advisor, simply send us an email at: [email protected] and we will review your situation in order to determine if a refund, or other method of resolution, is appropriate.
You may have your account deleted at any time. Simply contact us through our contact page and we will assist you.

Advisors

Just fill out the travel advisor sign-up form, following the simple instructions provided and once submitted, your profile will generally go live within 24 hours. Once live, members will instantly be able to find you in our database of travel experts and request your assistance in the form of a “Question Session” or “Call Session” at the session rates you indicate when creating your profile.
The more details you provide in your profile, the better. Be specific, and honest, when filling out each field, offering as much information as you can to show why you are an expert on certain travel-related topics and/or destinations. When creating your profile, we provide simple instructions to guide you through the process.
A session involves the communication between you and a particular member. It can either be a “Question Session”, in which the member may ask you up to three questions via our Plansify question form, or it may be a “Call Session”, in which a member will schedule a personal Skype call with you that may last anywhere up to 1 hour in duration.
A member can request a “Question Session” by submitting up to three questions to you via our Plansify question form. You will receive an email notification every time you receive such a request. Once you receive the notification, you have 48 hours to respond by clicking on the link in the email notification (if you don’t respond within 48 hours, the session will automatically be declined). You will then be taken to your “My Sessions” page where you will have the option of confirming or declining the session.

If you wish to confirm, you simply provide your answers to the questions right in the Plansify form in your “My Sessions” page. We do recommend typing your answers on your computer first and then copy and pasting them into the form. Otherwise, if you log off the Plansify system or close your “My Sessions” page without having completed your answers, you will lose any text you had entered into the form.

Keep in mind that each client may ask you up to three questions for your indicated rate. If you only receive one or two initial questions, the client may send follow-up questions until they have reached their three question limit. They have one week to ask all three questions and you must reply to each round of questions within 48 hours.

If a client wishes to ask more than their allotted three questions, they must purchase another session (another three questions) at your indicated rate in order to ensure you are fairly compensated for your time and effort.
A member can request a “Call Session” by submitting a short “Call Session Request Form” to you. Once such a request is made, you will receive an email notification, with a link directing you to your “My Sessions” page. On your “My Sessions” page, you will see a summary of what kind of advice the member is looking for as well as three different date/time options when they are available for a call. You may either confirm the call by choosing one of the date/time options or you may decline the call request.

Once you confirm the call, the member will automatically be given your Skype ID and they will then send you a Skype contact request shortly before the scheduled call time. And then, at the scheduled time, simply log in to Skype and the member will have up to 1 hour to ask you questions and seek your travel-related advice.

If you are not available at any of the dates/times specified by the member, you may also send a message to the member through your “My Sessions” page, indicating another day or time that would be more convenient for you. You may message back and forth until a suitable time is agreed upon, at which point you simply enter that date and time in the clearly marked “Date and Time” box on your “My Sessions” page.

The idea of this service is to offer direct, reliable travel advice at reasonable prices. The rates you set are per ‘session’, with one rate for a “Question Session” and another rate for a “Call Session”. While you can certainly charge any amount you wish, most of our travel advisors offer their services at a rate of between $12 – $30 USD per “Question Session” and $50 – $75 USD per “Call Session” depending on their area(s) and level(s) of expertise.
In order to help grow this site and bring you even more people who need your travel assistance, we do charge a 20% commission on the money that you earn through the site.
Once a session is complete, the member”s payment will be processed and your earnings will be added to your Plansify account. You can always view your earnings on your “My Sessions” page. At the start of each month, assuming you have reached the $50 threshold, we will pay all of your earnings for the previous month(s) to either the PayPal account or bank account that you specified when signing up.
In order to minimize transaction fees, you will only be paid if you have $50 or more in actual earnings (= earnings after our fees are taken) for any given pay period. If you do not earn $50 in one month, the amount you did earn will carry over to the next month(s) until you reach $50 in earnings, at which point the full amount will be paid into your account on the next payment date.
Anyone with extensive travel knowledge can register with the site as a travel advisor. Once your profile has been completed it will be reviewed by our team within the first 48 hours to ensure that it meets our guidelines. Reasons for profiles being denied would include insufficient proof of expertise, dishonest information or not following the rules set forth in our terms and conditions.
If a client feels that the assistance provided was far below their expectations, they may contact us regarding the situation. We will examine each case individually in order to determine if a refund, or other resolution method, is appropriate. If we do determine that refund is warranted, you will not be paid for that session.
Yes, as soon as your session is completed, which happens automatically after 1 week or if the member clicks the ‘close session’ button on their sessions page, the member is asked to leave feedback about their experience. Once they leave their feedback, you will receive a notification email with a link that will lead directly to their feedback, which can also be found at the bottom of your profile page.
