I have absolutely loved the expat life in Korea and hope to continue living it elsewhere in the world. I have particular expertise in living a countryside expat existence!
As a university student I still managed to take 2 month long trips every summer because of budget travel. I have great tips for saving and spending, both at home and abroad, to make your travel dreams a reality!
Round the World travel (RTW travel)
My travels in 2010 took me to 4 continents in 8 months and was the most amazing experience of my life.
I've taught English both voluntarily and paid, in Uganda and South Korea respectively. It's a wonderful job and obviously a great way to travel too.
I fell head over heels in love with Ethiopia on a backpacking trip here and in Kenya in 2011. It is a beautiful, fascinating, utterly surprising country that I think should be on everyone's bucket list.
In 2010 I backpacked around Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. While this was 4 years ago I have since given friends and family helpful, inspirational itineries on the region and would be happy to do the same for anyone!
In 2010 I backpacked around Peru, Brazil, Argentina and Bolivia. I by no means saw everything but have some unique experiences from that trip that I would recommend to anyone. For one, I travelled the length of the Amazon by cargo ship.
In 2012 I travelled in China for 2 months and saw a diverse range of places in this wonderful country, including trekking an untouched part of the Great Wall, riding a camel in the desert and peering into North Korea from the rim of a crater lake.
I have been teaching English in Korea for almost a year and have taken almost every weekend off to travel around this extremely underrated country. Whether you fancy teaching here yourself or want to experience why I think it is one of the best countries to travel in, I have A LOT of helpful advice and inspiration!
