Travel Writer, Photographer, and Online Marketing Consultant
Traveling and living abroad for most of the past decade while working as a freelance writer, photographer, and marketing consultant.

Adventure activities

I started skiing when I was 3 years old and started snowboarding a few years later. I now write the About.com snowboarding guide and have travelled to most of the resorts in the Western U.S. and Canada. Curious about skiing, snowboarding, or which mountain will be best for your vacation? I can definitely help you pick the most suitable one.

Expat life

I lived in Taiwan for six years and speak intermediate Mandarin Chinese. I've written travel guides to the country, helped tour companies create itineraries, and guided travel writers on visits. If there is anything at all you'd like to know about this beautiful country, there's nobody better you could ask. I've also visited the Philippines numerous times and have extensive knowledge of travel there as well.

Travel blogging / writing

I've worked as a professional travel writer and photographer for ten years. I've also been on the other side of the table, managing publications and commissioning stories from others, which gives me a well-rounded understanding of the industry as a whole. I'm always happy to share my experience with aspiring travel media professionals.

Working overseas

I worked for several years as an English teacher in Taiwan, which is an excellent way to save money and pay off students loans (which is what I did). In addition to working as a professional writer and photographer, I now earn a significant portion of my income teaching others how to use inbound marketing (blogging and social media) to improve their businesses and earn money while on the road.

North America

I've traveled extensively around Western North America, from Northern British Columbia to Mexico. A lifelong skier and snowboarder, I have extensive knowledge of the ski resorts in this part of the continent.

I've written one guide to the Philippines and have visited the country many times. I haven't visited all 7,107 islands yet, but I'm working on it.

I've lived in Taiwan for six years, speak intermediate Mandarin Chinese, and consider this wonderful island home. Working as a travel writer has helped me to develop an intimate knowledge of the geography, culture, and industry across the island.
